Recently... in photographs

I cut Josiah's hair
Beth let me fix her hair for picture day at School!
I wish I'd taken one of Emma too!
Katie-Abigail wearing the Princess Crown
I love being able to capture her days.
The zinea seeds are finally starting to bloom!

My awesome trip to the consignment store

Today I took K-A & Josiah out for the morning. We hit the Library, Target & Revive Consignment. At Revive I bought like three pairs of pants, a skirt and two tops for under $30 and paid for it using store credit (from stuff I've sold) oh yeah... I feel good! It was totally cool that when I got home everything I'd bought either fit me nicely or was just a bit big, even though they were all size ten! Yay!

American Eagle top & Ralph Lauren Jeans - I'm such a snob!

Do I look too young?

Good morning!

I'm still folding a mountain of laundry - this is day #2 and I've not even finished washing all of the laundry! For every tn peices of laundry I fold I have to re-fold two because Josiah has knocked some of it over. But I'm listening to this music station I created on Pandora - which is the awesomest interenet "radio" I've ever used and I totally love this station! (if the link doesn't work please leave a comment and let me know!)
Here in Atlanta the weather is perfect. It's cool in the morning and evening and sunny and warm in the afternoon. I totally love it! We need such beautiful weather, really. It's pretty stressful at the moment with the fuel situation. If ever there was a time to change to bio-deisel (or something) it's now! There is usually only one station with gas at a time in our area. The last time I filled up I had to buy premium grade gas because it was the only gas the station had left. It's crazy, totally crazy. But it was crazy after Katrina and things eventually settled back to normal so I'm confident that things will be the same again.
Tuesday night we went to go ride bikes for the first time this season. We go to the parking lot of a big Baptist church around the corner and the kids ride their bikes without worrying about hills or cars. I took a bunch of photos - I can't wait to share them here! If you absolutely can't wait, I've posted some on my flickr page so bop over to see them.
Oh there went the towels! Josiah just pulled them all down (sigh) I'd better run!

little bits of my life

I'm waiting for my coffee to finish brewing so I thought I'd sit down here for a minute and blog about life.
I just got back from my fifteen minute workout at the gym. While my big girls were home on their break from school I got back into the routine of going to the gym, there is free childcare at my Gold's Gym - it was wonderful to have that 20-40 minutes of walking on the treadmill. But now my girlies are at school and not able to help with Josiah, who is terrified of strangers. So I've been trying to go to the gym again but I've not been able to stay more than fifteen minutes. No too sure what to do about that, actually. At leastthe gym is only five minutes away!
Also, for the first time in my entire life - we have cable TV. It's weird having all this TV available. Exciting and scary at the same time. Thankfully the kids are doing really well staying within their bounderies. The only problem I'm really having is keeping Josiah away from the TV. We have the TV temporarily stored on an unused coffee table so it's down kinda' low and Daniel thinks it's so cool to be right up close to the TV. Agh!! We watched House on TV for the first time - man, that was a lot of commercials! And we couldn't pause it like we can online. However I'm just loving Playhouse Disney - we're watching Tigger & Pooh right now. cool!

My little man

I finally have photos of my now one year old Josiah! I took some on Saturday and some on Sunday. He's getting to be such a lot of fun. He laughs and smiles and brightens my day. He babbles a lot now: ma-ma, da-da, na-na (for bannana) ba-ba etc. Sometimes he looks at me quite inteligently and tells me whats on his mind. He also is right on the verge of begining to walk, he can cruise around on the furniture and holding onto cabinet nobs, generally getting into everything and driving Mama crazy!

Happy Birthday Josiah!

Yesterday Josiah turned one year old! It was such a "normal" day. We ended up having to spend the evening out because Daniel did a flea treatment on our carpets, so we spent the evening at McDonald's. Not the way I'd imagined it, for sure. Daniel got some totally cutie-pie pics of the boy @ McD's but I took zero photos the entire day. What's wrong with me?! (That was a rhetorical question, I don't really expect an answer lol) I'm amazed at how quickly this day has come. I love him SO much! He's so terribly adorable - he reminds me of Emma in that he is very attached and still nursing like an infant and sleeping in bed with me half the night! But he's almost walking now and babbling like anything. He tries new sounds every day. It's amazing.
So I thought I'd post a couple photos from Josiah's birth on his birthday!

today is a happy day!

I am feeling so happy today!
My big kids have had the week off of school and we are finally adjusted to having them (and being) home. I sure do enjoy having them home now!
Daniel & I had a date last night - we went to the Twisted Taco and it was SO good! It was nothing short of delightful to eat a hot meal by ourselves, instead of a half-cold meal and sharing every third bite with one of my kids.
I've been able to go the gym again, now that we're finally over our month of sickness, and it's really great to have that 20-30 minutes of quiet and excercise. I feel a little bit better, a little bit healthier.
Therapy is finally helping, at least a little, instead of making things worse.
I got my business cards in the mail! They are so beautiful and I am very pleased with how they turned out. (I ordered them from moo.com) Can't wait to start passing them out.
I made myself a smoothie!! Yum! I'm drinking it now.
The windows are all open and the weather is sunny, breezy and perfect.
I'm feeling so happy today!

Justin

I had a photo shoot with Justin A. on Saturday, he's a single guy at church who is a great friend to Daniel & I. I'm super glad he agreed to let me take his picture, they turned out really well! The whole set is here!

I love...

I love stepping out my front door to wait with my girls for the bus and feeling the cool fresh air. I breathe it in, thankful for the opportunity to experience this moment.
I love sipping my hot coffee in the cool morning air and listening to the banter of my kiddos with the neighbor girls while they wait for the bus.
I love spotting the toadstools in my yard. I've never seen ones like these before, they are like something from a fairytale! They are different every morning.
I love watching Katie-Abigail hunt for rolly-pollys, her favorite thing in the outdoor world.
The bus comes and we all wave and blow kisses and sign "I love you". Katie-Abigail runs back inside the moment they are on the bus.
I'm getting better about letting them go, it's slowly dawning on my how much they really enjoy being at school. I used to feel sad and anxious as they left but no I come inside and enjoy the quiet.
Even in the difficult seasons of life there is so much to love!

Of course I couldn't post without a picture!
Here's one I took yesterday of the toadstools in my yard.

Actions!

For the first time ever I used an action in Photoshop! I downloaded some for free at Pioneer Woman it took Daniel's brilliant assistance before I figured out how to load the new actions once I'd downloaded them. I was completely overwhelmed with the entire process but I figured out a tiny baby bit of it and am very proud with the results so here's one that is processed using a couple of actions:

Birthday Roses

I am pitifully behind in my blogging. I'm just now editing and posting pictures from my birthday which was last month. Better late than never! Daniel gave me some beautiful peachy roses which I took hundreds of photographs of. I edited a couple of my favorites tonight.

Finally! Pictures from the wedding

It has taken me waaaaay too long to post these pictures from my brother in-law's wedding. They were happy with their pictures - yay! I posted a few photos that I didn't take on my other blog which was fun. It was a very difficult wedding to shoot because I had all four of my kids with me, Emma was the flower girl and Daniel (mu husband) was a groomsman. We had just about 45 minutes to do photographs between the ceremony and reception and then maybe 30 minutes after the reception. So it was a pretty stressful gig for me but I'm generally pleased with the results. So now, finally, here are some favorites:
My Emma
Listening to vows
Exchange of rings
My sister Abigail was an invaluable help in getting the entire wedding covered and she added some AMAZING photos to the set. Coundn't have done it without her!
